Résumé
Investigates the encoding of category and instance nouns as a function of whether their referents were described by category or instance nouns and of whether preceding contexts suggests what kind of thing is being referred to. Provision of extra information on the referent by the occurrence of an instance noun in a following sentence; Condition wherein the occurrence of the instance noun would not slow down readers.
